Frederica Riley is in love with the effortlessly cool Laura Dean, who she is in a tempestuous relationship with. Freddy is rendered powerless to Laura Dean’s charms, despite being treated like garbage (gaslighting, cheating, etc). Freddy has an incredible group of friends, including her best friend Doodle, who try and talk some sense into her, but the only person Freddy wants to consult is an online advice columnist, Anna Vice. Meanwhile, Freddy is too caught up with Laura Dean to realize that her best friend Doodle is dealing with their own slew of problems. Relationships (good, bad, romantic, and platonic) are explored in this gorgeously illustrated graphic novel, complete with accents of blushing pink.
Queer young love, neglected friendships, toxic relationships, and heartbreak are at the forefront of this story, along with enough angst you can almost feel it emanate from the page. I adored it!
