THIS ADVENTURE ENDS
Author // Emma Mills
Genre // YA Contemporary
Publisher // Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)
Release Date // October 4th, 2016
Synopsis // Sloane isn’t expecting to fall in with a group of friends when she moves from New York to Florida—especially not a group of friends so intense, so in love, so all-consuming. Yet that’s exactly what happens.
Sloane becomes closest to Vera, a social-media star who lights up any room, and Gabe, Vera’s twin brother and the most serious person Sloane’s ever met. When a beloved painting by the twins’ late mother goes missing, Sloane takes on the responsibility of tracking it down, a journey that takes her across state lines—and ever deeper into the twins’ lives.
Filled with intense and important friendships, a wonderful warts-and-all family, shiveringly good romantic developments, and sharp, witty dialogue, this story is about finding the people you never knew you needed.
Why I am [eagerly] waiting on this book // Initially, my major excitement around this book was based primarily on the author and my previous love of her book! Emma Mills is absolutely delightful. If you don’t want to take my word for it, check out her youtube channel, after one video I guarantee that you’ll agree! I also was a huge fan of her first book, FIRST & THEN! Check out my review here. It was a great YA contemporary book, described as Friday Night Lights meets Pride & Prejudice, and is just full of heartfelt characters and is overall a great story.
More specifically, though, I am beyond excited for THIS ADVENTURE ENDS because I am always a fan of books with strong, deep friendships, and it seems like this one will absolutely have that. Imperfect families are also something I love, and this combination is sure to be a winner in my opinion. Add the witty dialogue and sprinkle in some romance and you really can’t go wrong!

I also loved Emma’s first book, which is why I will now read anything written by her! I’m waiting on Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin, the sequel to Wolf by Wolf. The writing in WbW is so atmospheric!
